Job Description:

Cook III Job Description: Join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort team as a well-rounded and seasoned Cook III. You will be part of a team creating distinct culinary experiences for guests, supporting the Sous Chef, and providing excellent service within the culinary department.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop positive relationships with team members and support common goals.
  • Prepare special meals and substitute items.
  • Assist with stocking and setting up stations.
  • Train new staff in preparation methods.
  • Model company standards of excellence and execution of job role.
  • Work clean and organized, maintaining a clean environment.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues and perform in the kitchen.
  • Regulate oven temperatures and broilers.
  • Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
  • Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and food garnish.
  • Maintain food logs and monitor food quality and quantity.
  • Communicate assistance needs during busy periods.
  • Inform Chef of excess food items for daily specials.
  • Inform Food & Beverage staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items.
  • Ensure food quality.
  • Knowledge of cooking methods and accepted standards of sanitation.
  • Operate all kitchen equipment.
  • Basic mathematical skills for recipe understanding and portioning.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to complete requisitions and communicate with team members.
  • Prepare food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards.


    Additional Duties:

    • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
    • Assist management in hiring, training, and motivating employees.
    • Follow company policies and safety procedures.
    • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
    • Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
    • Communicate professionally with others.
    • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
    • Perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, and moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
    • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
