Job Description:
Cook III Job Description: Join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort team as
a well-rounded and seasoned Cook III. You will be part of a team
creating distinct culinary experiences for guests, supporting the
Sous Chef, and providing excellent service within the culinary
department.
Responsibilities:
- Develop positive relationships with team members and support
common goals.
- Prepare special meals and substitute items.
- Assist with stocking and setting up stations.
- Train new staff in preparation methods.
- Model company standards of excellence and execution of job
role.
- Work clean and organized, maintaining a clean
environment.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues and perform in the
kitchen.
- Regulate oven temperatures and broilers.
- Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the
refrigerator.
- Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and food
garnish.
- Maintain food logs and monitor food quality and
quantity.
- Communicate assistance needs during busy periods.
- Inform Chef of excess food items for daily specials.
- Inform Food & Beverage staff of menu specials and out-of-stock
items.
- Ensure food quality.
- Knowledge of cooking methods and accepted standards of
sanitation.
- Operate all kitchen equipment.
- Basic mathematical skills for recipe understanding and
portioning.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to
complete requisitions and communicate with team members.
- Prepare food according to recipes, quality standards, and
presentation standards.
Additional Duties:
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist management in hiring, training, and motivating
employees.
- Follow company policies and safety procedures.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and
professional.
- Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
- Communicate professionally with others.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and
standards.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, and moving
objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
