Culinary Excellence at Pier Sixty-Six ResortWe are seeking a
highly skilled and seasoned Culinary Expert to join our team at
Pier Sixty-Six Resort. As a key member of our culinary department,
you will be responsible for creating exceptional dining experiences
for our guests.Reporting to the Sous Chef, you will support and
provide excellent service in a high-volume kitchen environment.
Your passion for culinary arts and exceptional communication skills
will enable you to work effectively with our team to deliver
outstanding results.
- Develop strong working relationships with team members and
contribute to achieving common goals.
- Prepare special meals and substitute items as needed.
- Assist with stocking and setting up kitchen stations.
- Train new staff members in preparation methods and kitchen
procedures.
- Lead by example, adhering to our 5-star standards of excellence
and executing job duties with precision.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring cleanliness
as you go.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and perform tasks
efficiently in the kitchen.
- Regulate oven temperatures, broilers, grills, and
roasters.
- Pull frozen food for thawing in the refrigerator.
- Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and food garnish.
- Maintain accurate food logs, monitoring quality and
quantity.
- Communicate assistance needs during busy periods.
- Inform the Chef of excess food items for special menu
creation.
- Notify Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and
out-of-stock items.
- Verify the quality of food items.
- Possess a solid understanding of fundamental cooking methods,
including broiler, saut--, fry, roast, and moist heat.
- Familiarity with accepted sanitation standards.
- Knowledge of operating kitchen equipment, such as stoves,
ovens, broilers, steamers, and kettles.
- Basic mathematical skills for understanding recipes,
measurements, and portion sizes.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English
language for completing requisitions and communicating with team
members.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality,
presentation, and food preparation standards.Additional

- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating,
counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees; serve as a role
model.
- Follow company and safety policies; report maintenance needs,
accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety
training.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and
professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information;
protect company assets.
- Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
- Communicate clearly and professionally.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships; support
team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to
colleagues' concerns.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending,
twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and
place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without
assistance.

Supervisors.
